Our Local Partners

By partnering with the Bangladesh Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), UBC, and local partners, SCCB established a lasting framework that continues to support healthcare professionals, families, and children affected by clubfoot.

BRAC, one of the world’s largest NGO’s, served as the in-country lead, linking the project to Bangladesh’s MoHFW, and mobilizing its extensive network of community health workers for early detection, referral, and follow-up. The MoHFW played a central role in integrating clubfoot care into public health services by endorsing national guidelines, training curricula, and supporting the establishment of clubfoot clinics across government hospitals. The National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), the national center for trauma and orthopaedics, hosted a major clubfoot clinic and Ponseti Training Center to build national clinical capacity. The Bangladesh Orthopaedic Society supported awareness, professional engagement, and knowledge sharing among orthopaedic surgeons. Research, monitoring, and evaluation activities were led by icddr,b, a globally recognized health research institute based in Dhaka, ensuring evidence-informed implementation and continuous learning throughout the project.
